Your Decision

Do you believe that Jesus is the one revealed in God's Word? Do you believe that he gave himself to suffer and die for our sins? Do you believe that he rose from the dead?

Then there can only be one response.

He, who is stronger than death, took the cross upon himself to set you free. Out of love, he gave his life to save yours. This Jesus deserves to be worshiped. He has prepared everything to free you from the bondage of sin – now he wants to be your Lord. He deserves you to give him your life.

What do you need to do for that?

Acknowledge the true God and give him the honor he deserves! Give him your life and invite him to be your Lord.

The Bible calls this step "repentance" or turning around. This means turning away from your own ways to follow the true God and aligning your life with his truth. You don't need to follow any rules or meet any conditions, except to be sincere. You can come to God as you are, with all your faults and problems. You can ask him to forgive your sins – and know that your guilt was paid for on the cross. When you make Jesus your Lord, you are free!

"He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." – Colossians 1:13-14

How can you pray?

In prayer, you can come freely before God and lay down everything that moves you. He is waiting for your prayer. You don't need prepared words to speak with God.

But if you find it difficult to find your own words, you can pray like this:

"Jesus, I have realized that you are the savior. Thank you for bearing my sins and dying for me on the cross! Please forgive me for often sinning against you and following my own false ways. Free me from my guilt and let me live a life that honors you!

I ask you to be the Lord of my life! I want to serve you with all my heart. Lead me on your paths and let me know you more and more!"

Your Path

"I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance." - Luke 15:7

Once you have made this decision, your new life in the light of God begins. Now you can experience his peace.

But what does life as a follower of Jesus look like? What can you do in practice?

Your goal should be to get to know Jesus better and become more like him. Stay in relationship with the Lord and seek him in prayer. Read regularly in his Word – it is recommended to start with the New Testament. Also important: A follower of Jesus is not a lone fighter. Seek fellowship with other believers who love Jesus and follow his Word.
